On a great piece of oil history! This original 1860's oil stock of Pennsylvania is considered one of the most colorful and graphic of all the oil stocks of this pioneer period. This stock. measuring 14.5″ x 7″, was printed just a few years after the very first well was dug. Drakes Well was located in northwestern Pennsylvania.
In 1859. it was one of the first successful oil wells drilled for the sole purpose of fining oil. The vibrant green and gold printing is quite exceptional. This original unissued certificate is in pristine condition.
Each stock certificate comes in a clear acid-free envelope with a handsome display sheet that gives historical information about the stock certificate.
